George Quaintance and Painted Images of Male Bonding

There is not much to be said about the realms of male homosexuality. Personally I do not care one way or another. However, what I do care about is the artwork. Featured below, are images of artistic paintings, by the likes of Philip Gladstone, George Quaintance, and Thomas Eakins.

If somebody chooses to close their minds to different, yet reflective figurative art forms, well there is nothing I can do about that. Nevertheless, if someone would like to expand their horizons, and look at art from a different angle.allow me to introduce you to, the free will of some really great and talented artists.

Realizing that homosexuality is a touchy subject matter, I am in no way promoting its lifestyle. Moreover though, I promoting the companionship and bonding of one man to another. Men have always had a special kinship with one another. For instance, men go into battle together, as can be seen here in A. A. Deineka's "After the Battle," oil painting, which I have featured below. I can imagine myself sitting there on the bar stool, sweating out the fact that somehow I had made it, and that I am alive. Like all men of the locker room, men of all nations do take showers together. There is nothing menacing about this act, other than somebody sticking a bar of soap up your butt crack, as a practical joke. Therefore, if you can get passed your first impression of the piece, you will soon know the painting is a calm celebration of loving life, and relaxing in the survival of brotherhood.

Artist want to sometimes shock their audience into believing one way, when the true way of knowing what the piece is really about, might require an 180 degree turn about. It is a clever technique, that makes you the viewer, more aware of yourself and artwork itself. I ask you to really gaze at each piece, and see the 180 degree angle found in each of the images, and comment about what you learn. Take the challenge, you might surprise yourself in what you find.
